10/21 (Sun.) 15:45 Wooonta│Taiwan│Sitar and erhu music given four stars by British media

Wooonta is a Taiwan-based crossover music band consisting of TS Lo (erhu) from Taiwan, Hugues Vincent (cello) and Yo (sitar) from Japan. Wooonta is not just an ordinary collaboration of traditional instruments from East and West but a beautiful blend of different musical backgrounds and genres with new and creative ideas. They rearrange and play around with traditional tunes and also write their own music. Their musical elements and inspiration come from world music, tango, jazz, improvisation and contemporary music.

Wooonta was the only music group selected to represent Taiwan at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2016. Wooonta held more than 20 concerts there and was honored with four-star reviews from The Scotsman, Herald Scotland and others. Wooonta’s first CD, Woontaful, won the Best Arrangement Creation Award at Taiwan’s 28th Golden Melody Awards.
