Suming Rupi is an Amis singer-songwriter, actor, artist, dancer and music festival founder from Dulan Village in Taitung County, Taiwan. The major awards he has won, including Golden Melody Awards, Golden Horse Film Awards, and Golden Indie Music Awards, are not just a testament to the recognition he has achieved in the visual arts and music scenes, but also a reflection of the development of his own indigenous culture in the context of contemporary society.

From dedicating himself to returning to his village to run youth education organizations, to producing albums in his mother tongue (Amis) and directing the Amis Music Festival, Suming has given back to his culture, land, and community and shared them with people around the world.

In recent years, he has been invited to renowned music festivals in other countries, including Glastonbury Festival, WOMAD UK, and Norway’s Riđđu Riđđu Festival, as well as a string of performances in Japan, including at 2017 Fuji Rock, Good Neighbors Jamboree and 2018 Trans Asia Music Meeting, as part of dedicating himself to globally promoting the culture of the Amis, Taiwanese indigenous people, and Taiwan in general.
